Looking for herbs

Darkfang padded quietly to the brook. He bent down to lick up the chrystal water. "Do you smell any herbs?" he asked the new medicene cat. He could scent a herb on the other side of the nearest bush. He wondered if she did too.

A sharp tang entered her senses. "Yes I do. It's marigold.... and lots of it.", she replied. She stepped over a set of stones that led across the brook and to the other side. As she landed on the ground she spotted the plant. "Ah ha! Found it!", and she walked over to it and bit a few clumps from the ground.

Dark fang smiled but then caught himself and nodded. He gripped some in his sharp teeth and pulled it up. His tail flicked back and forth, landing in the water. He walked to a nearby hollow tree and stored the herbs in it. "We can keep them in here until we return to the cave," he mumbled.

"Sure.", and she placed them in the spot. "Where to next. I may smell some Burdock root, that's best for ratbites, near here.",she said. "I think it's over there.", she continued while pointing her tail to the east.

Darkfang nodded as if asking her to lead the way. His whiskers twitched with relaxation. It seemed that all of his troubles just melted away.

Leafstream noticed Darkfang had a relaxed facial expresion when he looked at her. Embaressed, she quickly turned away and started down the trail. "You comin'", she asked from over her back. " I don't know the trails very well so I may need some help." This was sort of true, but what she really wanted to get to know Darkfang a little more.

"Yes," he nodded and started down the trail. His sences tingled here and he could smell prey all around. "The trail is this way," he nodded his head farther up where the trees seemed to split.

Leafstream followed Darkfang down through the forest on the trail. What a great way to begin my life in a tribe!
